We have something for everyone to get involved at the BCC. Have an
idea for doing something not listed here? Let us know and we might
be able to work together to implement your idea.
Summer camp/high school mission’s trips
a. Summer day camp. Ministries and Churches in the city will
bring in elementary age kids for the day. Activities will include
Bible time, breakfast, lunch, education, fun Tutors
b. Classroom helpers for educational times.
c. Food preparers, servers (breakfast or lunch)
d. Bible teachers (for elementary or high school age)
e. Creative classes - teach a special hobby or skill to elementary
kids
High School age Missions trips. High school church youth
groups will spend the night at the BCC Sunday through Saturday. They
will volunteer during the day at the summer youth day camp or doing
service projects at the BCC Food preparers and servers for dinner
meal.
i. Bible teachers.
ii Worship leaders.
iii. Planning.
iv. Marketing materials.
v. Tour guides for high school groups to go see Niagara Falls.
Strengthening Urban Churches Initiative - Volunteer at the
center: Organizing/playing activities in a room: Basketball,
Roller skating, miniature golf, pool, ping pong, foosball
Teaching a special talent: cooking, sewing, karate, basketball,
roller hockey? Offer to teach a class to our partnering urban
churches. Or partner with an urban church volunteer for a joint
venture.
Cooking - cook and sell items at the snack shop
Life guarding - at our pool for Urban Church member nights
Supervising a room: Gym, roller skating rink, snack bar area,
pool
Opening Center for churches to use
Closing center at end of night
Organizing special events for Urban/Suburban partnerships -
be creative, things like a roller-skating party, basketball
tournaments, church picnics, fun activities in the pool or game
room, speakers or dramas in the theatre
General:
Marketing: - Develop brochures, flyers and other materials to
promote BCC activities to churches and youth groups
Construction: - Carpentry, electric, painting, flooring,
plumbing, roofing, windows, insulation, boiler maintenance, pool
maintenance, general labor.
All are needed for maintenance and repairs of the BCC.
Hosting a room: - Help supervise a room during open
center Saturday or one of the strengthening Urban Churches time
slots.
Hosting Overnight groups at the BCC (weekends during the
school year - any night in the summer): - Spend the night with
visiting groups at the BCC.
Get trained in managing the facility and have fun with groups that
spend the night.
Training and conferences: - All aspects of planning and
putting on a conference are needed including: registration,
marketing, graphic design and planning.
Theatre and Drama: - Develop and plan events for the Forbes
theatre including plays, speakers, concerts and events.
Youth Nights/Activities: - Develop activities and events for
youth groups and or youth at the BCC. With a basketball court,
roller skating rink, pool, game room, full kitchen and eating area
and theatre, only your imagination is the limit
Bills Night Out: - Ushers needed to distribute and collect
feedback cards during the Bills Night Out event. Football players
from the Buffalo Bills will be giving testimonies and signing
autographs at this outreach event Friday night, November 9.
Accounting: - Help with accounting needs including
streamlining systems, 990 reports, other reporting.
Bookkeeping: - Help with bookkeeping entries.
Data Entry
Mailings: - Sort, stuff and mail.
Receptionist: - Help answer the phones and meet interesting
people.
Computers: - Help with office computers, web design, all
aspects of office computer systems.
Video Production: - Create an exciting video highlighting the
mission, vision and activities of the BCC.
Fundraising
Events - help plan and put on fundraising events.
Grant Writing
Research - research availability of grants that the BCC would
qualify for. Writing - work closely with the executive
director in writing grants.
Intercessory Prayer - Gather prayer needs and pray.
Distribute list of prayer needs for other groups to pray.
